February Favorites!

Hair Favorites

Batiste Dry Shampoo- Dark & Deep BrownSurely everyone has heard of this dry shampoo by now. I tried it late but totally fell in love with it! I have very oil hair and it honestly worked. I was able to go 4 days without washing my hair! That alone made me a believer. I also like the smell and my hair doesn't feel gross.

Suave Professionals- Moroccan Infusion Argan Styling OilI've had this oil for almost a year (I'm pretty sure) and I still have not run out! I use it mostly on damp hair after I shower. Everynow and then when I feel my ends are dry I also apply it on dry hair. It has kept my ends shiny and healthy!

Face Favorites

Olay- All day moisturizer with SPF 15
I have used this moisturizer everyday. It probably lasted close to three months or more. I used it under my makeup and had no issues.

Maybelline FIT Me Foundation
At first I didn't love this foundation but I've learned to. The color fits me very well. This was my first foundation from the drugstore so I was hesitant about it because I was nervous I didn't pick the right color. It looks natural and doesn't look separate from my neck skin color! I've gotta say it not super long wearing but it blends well and covers up enough to use concealer.

Malin+Goetz- Mojito Lip Balm
Another IPSY goodie! This limp balm is the first I actually enjoy and actually use. I have a couple balms and chapsticks that I honestly just use when my lips are chapped but this one I like to use almost every day! The balm absorbs into your lips like nothing else I've used. It does not leave them sticky or with a funny taste. It states it has fatty acid absorption technology and let me tell ya that it works! I would have never found this balm if it had not been for Ipsy! I like to use it every night before bed, when I wake up my lips don't feel gross and it has really helped nourish them because they are way softer!

Eye Favorites

Nourish Organics- Renewing Eye Cream
I got this eye cream in my IPSY January bag. It had argan oil and avocado, targeted from normal to dry skin. I was previously using another eye cream for dark circles, which wasn't working but it was the only one I had. I remember I was having some dry areas under my eyes due to the cold weather and the other eye cream was not helping. The first night I used it, it worked because the next day my dry areas were gone. Since then, I use it every night before bed. I do not use it in the mornings because I just don't have time to be honest. It's a good size so I think it will last me a good while, thank you Ipsy!

Revlon Brow Fantasy- Brunette Shade
With all the "Brow Craze" going on, I had to fix MY eyebrows! I did not typically fill in my eyebrows or do anything to them really. This product is double ended with a brow gel on one and a pencil at the other. The pencil is a bit too light for my brows but I have finished the gel part. It keeps my eyebrows in place and it great for everyday use when I don't have time to also use a pencil to fill them in.

L'OREAL Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
This is a holy grail item for me! I have re purchased this mascara so many times and will continue to do so. The wand is not too big and the bristles are great for elongating the lashes. It is great for layering because it does not make my lashes feel too thick or like spider lashes. Sometimes I actually enjoy it alone without eye shadow or eye liner because I appreciate my eyes just with the mascara on.

These may not seem like a lot of beauty favorites but I am a simple girl. For one I am in college so I do not have time to fix myself every morning nor do I want to. I would rather use those minutes for some extra zzzz's! I can say though that I have really enjoyed these products for the month of February and we'll see if in March I have new favorites to share!

Clinique Acne Solutions Review!

CLINIQUE Acne Solutions Review

I purchased the Clinique acne solutions set on cyber monday from the Clinique website. The set is $36 and I got free shipping and five free samples. I have the Clinique even better foundation and I love it so I thought why not give their skincare a try. I bought it because I heard great reviews from Ingrid (msglamorazzi) on youtube. Her and I seemed to have the same issue; acne in college! I did not have acne problems in high school other than your average zit but my acne popped up even more in college. I previously used drugstore brands to treat acne and clogged pores but since this acne was persistant I thought I should try a higher end brand. Now lets get into the actual review!

Unfortunately the three step kit did not work for me. To start of the first step, the cleansing foam does not lather like I thought it would. The smell is also not to my liking, it smells like straight up alcohol. The step two, clarifying lotion is a toner that holds a powder at the bottom that you are supposed to shake before applying. This also smells like alcohol big time. When I apply the toner around my forehead and nose it burns my eyes. The step three, all over clearing oil free treatment is a white thin cream. The products say they will reduce shine and are oil free, this is true. I am a very oily person when it comes to my t-zone and I was definitely oil free while using them. This is not always a good thing though, your body needs those natural oils and blotting throughout the day is not a huge drag. The biggest down side to using the products was that they are very drying. My face was not only dry but I started getting white flakes around my eyebrows. I limited the use of toner to only my t-zone but my face was still too dry. Aside from the dryness, it made more pimples come out! I understand that some products are the "get worse before it gets better" but I made the decision to stop using it because it was too drying for my skin.

I decided to make this review because the ones I read on the Clinique website or on sephora were short and praised the products. I will not stop buying from Clinique but will opt for another acne clearing product rather than these. I am also not encouraging anybody to not buy them but be aware of how drying they are.

I will do another post on comparing the cleansing foam to the Aveeno clear complexion foaming cleanser. Another post coming is a review for the free samples I got. I hope somebody out there finds this review helpful!
